Accessibility information

The ifolor Group offers comprehensive services for the personalized design and production of photo products. These include, for example, photo books, photo calendars, photo greeting cards, wall decorations, and various other photo gifts. ifolor also offers design software, ifolor Designer, which customers can use to create and save their photo products offline and access them at any time.
The ifolor Group strives to make all its websites and mobile and desktop applications accessible in accordance with applicable legal requirements, in particular the national implementation laws of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
For Finland, the national implementation in the Valtioneuvoston ("Government Decree" (179/2023) is relevant.
The technical development is based on the requirements of European Standard EN 301 549 and the success criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 in conformity levels A and AA.

This accessibility statement applies to:

• the ifolor website (ifolor.fi)

• the mobile applications (iOS & Android)

• the desktop applications (Windows & MacOS)

• the web editor & ordering process

Status of compliance with requirements

ifolor websites

Compliance status: Partially compliant/accessible

Our websites already offer some features to improve usability for people with disabilities. In particular, the following measures have been implemented:

• Keyboard accessibility for main navigation and forms

• Screen reader-readable structures (semantic headings, lists, labels)

• Visible focus indicators

• Alternative text for product images and buttons

Some barriers remain:

• Color contrast is too low in some places, making readability difficult

• Many images and graphic elements are not adequately described and are not accessible to screen readers

• Embedded videos do not contain additional text or descriptions for users with visual or hearing impairments

• Some labels and feedback are missing in forms, e.g., for errors or confirmations

• The page structure is not always clear, headings and navigation aids are missing, or links are not recognizable as such

• Many elements and functions cannot be operated with the keyboard, or only to a limited extent, e.g., due to incorrect order or missing focus

Web editor & ordering process

Compliance status: Partially compliant/accessible

Our web editor & ordering process already offers some features to improve usability for people with disabilities:

• Keyboard operability for standard HTML elements, such as links and form input fields

• Screen reader-readable structures (semantic headings, lists, labels, links, and input fields)

Some barriers remain:

• Many functions cannot be fully operated using the keyboard

• Text and elements are often difficult to read due to insufficient color contrast

• Content cannot be enlarged well on mobile devices

• Many images do not have appropriate alternative text for screen readers

• Font sizes and spacing are not flexible and sometimes difficult to read

Mobile application: Android

Compliance status: Partially compliant/accessible

Our Android application already offers several features to improve usability for people with disabilities:

• Support for TalkBack (screen reader)

• Descriptive texts for important controls

• Customizable font sizes

• Feedback for input and keyboard operation possible

Some barriers remain:

• Some elements are not clearly labeled or logically arranged

• Controls are often too small or difficult to reach

• Color contrasts are sometimes insufficient

• Keyboard operation has not yet been fully implemented

• TalkBack texts are unclear or incomplete in places

• Screen reader language does not always match app language (Android system issue)

• No alternatives for swipe and drag gestures

• Portrait and landscape modes not equally supported everywhere

Mobile application: iOS

Compliance status: Partially compliant/accessible

Our iOS application already offers several features to improve usability for people with disabilities:

• Support for VoiceOver (screen reader)

• Alternative text for key controls

• Customizable font sizes via iOS system settings

• Visual feedback for input

• Many features can be operated via an external keyboard

Some barriers remain:

• Some elements are not clearly labeled

• Navigation order is not always logical

• Some buttons or touch areas are too small or difficult to reach

• Color contrasts are insufficient in some areas

• No alternatives for swipe and drag gestures

• iPhone can only be used in landscape mode, iPad only in portrait mode

• VoiceOver texts unclear or incomplete in places

• Keyboard operation not yet fully implemented

Desktop application: MacOS

Compliance status: Partially compliant/accessible

Our MacOS application already includes some features that support people with disabilities:

• VoiceOver support

• (screen reader)

• Alternative text for key controls

• Customizable font sizes via macOS system settings

• Visual feedback for inputs

• Keyboard operation possible for many functions

Some barriers remain:

• Not all buttons or elements are labeled correctly

• Navigation with keyboard or VoiceOver is sometimes illogical

• Some important functions cannot be fully operated using the keyboard

• Color contrasts are insufficient in certain areas

• There are no alternatives to certain mouse or drag-and-drop actions

Desktop application: Windows

Compliance status: Partially compliant/accessible

Our Windows application already includes some features that support people with disabilities:

• Most content is now accessible with screen readers (e.g., NVDA) and is read aloud correctly

• Screen zoom is possible without losing or cutting off content

Some barriers remain:

• Focus is barely visible or not visible at all, navigation order is not logical or predictable

• Keyboard operation is not yet possible throughout

• Color contrasts are too weak in many places

• Spacing in the text cannot be changed

• Input fields do not always display clear error messages or feedback

• There are no alternative options for drag-and-drop

• Font size cannot currently be adjusted reliably-changes in Windows settings currently have no effect on the app content

Non-accessible content

The restrictions listed under "Compliance status" reflect the barriers currently known on our digital platforms. In many cases, these exist for the following reasons:

Outdated technical foundations: Individual platforms - in particular the desktop apps for Windows and macOS - are based on older code bases or UI architectures that can only be expanded to a limited extent in terms of accessibility.

• The complete conversion will take place in stages.

Technical limitations of platform-specific frameworks: Particularly in the area of mobile operating systems (e.g., Android) or web technologies (e.g., iframe integration of third-party videos), system-related limitations restrict the implementation of accessible solutions.

Disproportionate effort for far-reaching changes: Some changes, such as the accessible restructuring of complex web editor interfaces or drag-and-drop functions, require extensive modifications with high development costs. These will be taken into account in planned redesigns.

Incomplete semantic markup: Parts of the website or mobile apps still lack consistent labels, roles, or focus indicators-mostly due to inconsistent design or code decisions made in the past.

Lack of alternatives for certain forms of interaction: Several platforms currently do not offer sufficient alternatives for touch, swipe, or mouse gestures. The implementation of corresponding functions is planned.
